Bareilly: A lively theatrical performance titled “Teen The Bhai” (Three Were Brothers) captivated the audience on Sunday evening at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Trust Riddhima in Bareilly. The play was presented by the Delhi-based theatre group Black Pearl Art and directed by noted theatre artist Amul Sagar Nath, who also adapted the script for stage.
The story revolves around three brothers—Barka, Majhla and Chhutka—who perform in a well-known Ramleela in the Morena district and dream of becoming successful film heroes in Mumbai. During one of their performances, a casting agent from Mumbai arrives and praises their acting, inviting them to the city to pursue opportunities in the film industry.
Despite their Guruji advising against it, the three brothers decide to chase their dreams and travel to Mumbai. Their father initially ridicules their ambitions, but the brothers try to persuade him by delivering dramatic dialogues in the styles of famous Bollywood actors. Eventually, Majhla promises that if they fail to achieve success within a year, they will return home and take up farming.
The narrative follows their journey to Mumbai, filled with humorous dreams of dining with celebrities and living glamorous lives. However, upon arriving at the railway station, they discover their wallets have been stolen. Their struggles intensify when a fake casting agent tries to exploit them, but the brothers stand united and protect each other.
The turning point comes when the original casting agent reappears and encourages them not to lose hope. She takes them to a director for an audition. Although their initial attempts at performing a scene fail, their genuine emotions eventually impress the director, who selects them as lead actors in her upcoming film. The play concludes on a joyful note as their family and Guruji join them to celebrate their success.

The performance was appreciated for its blend of humor, emotion and social commentary on dreams, struggles and perseverance.
Among those present on the occasion were Dev Murti, founder and chairman of Shri Ram Murti Smarak Trust, along with Asha Murti, Aditya Murti, Richa Murti and Devisha Murti. Other dignitaries included Subhash Mehra, Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Shailesh Saxena, Dr. Ashish Kumar and Dr. Rita Sharma, along with several guests and theatre enthusiasts.
