Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi (Culture Department, U.P.) organized the second evening of the State Drama Festival on September 26, 2025, at its auditorium, where the play “Doosra Na Koi” was staged. The event was graced by the presence of Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission Vice-Chairperson Aparna Yadav as the chief guest, along with Akademi Chairman Prof. Jayant Khot, Vice-Chairperson Mrs. Vibha Singh, and other distinguished guests.
The evening began with a warm welcome extended to Yadav by Prof. Khot and Singh, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Prof. Khot honored the chief guest with a shawl and bouquet, while Dr. Anjana Puri, the writer of “Doosra Na Koi”, was also felicitated with a bouquet and shawl by Mrs. Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Vibha Singh highlighted that the Akademi always strives to bring newness to its cultural programs. This year, the format of the festival was revised to include the best presentations from divisional and regional drama festivals, while also inviting outstanding productions from other states.
On the second evening, Bhopal-based theatre group Rang Vidushak presented “Doosra Na Koi”, directed by Kanhaiya Lal. The play featured a strong cast including Vimlesh Patel, Nitin Pandey, Sankit Sejwar, Pooja Mishra, Heer Meera, Muskan Sharma, Varsha Pandey, and others.

The play, written by Dr. Anjana Puri, was supported by music composer Ram Singh Patel, light designer Amar Singh, and harmonium artist Virendra Jani. The program was conducted by Dr. Anita Sehgal.
The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting the state’s growing cultural vibrancy and its exchange with national theatre traditions.
