Mumbai– Pokémon joined forces with the Gujarat Titans for the 2025 league season, bringing immense joy to both junior and senior players. The beloved Pikachu’s presence at training sessions and home games injected an electrifying energy into the atmosphere.
Grassroots Engagement with Junior Titans
In the pre-season, Pokémon was seamlessly integrated into the franchise’s Junior Titans program, a pioneering grassroots initiative designed to promote sports and active lifestyles among children under 14 across five cities in Gujarat. The Pokémon team visited two centers during the program, distributing exciting Pokémon gifts. The highlight of this partnership was a surprise visit by Pikachu to the Ahmedabad center, where Pikachu led warm-up activities with the “Radio Taiso Number One (Japanese Warm-Up Exercise)” much to the delight of the participating children.
In-Stadium Excitement and Fan Engagement
During the season, Pokémon set up a vibrant booth adorned with Pokémon art at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Over the seven home-game days, approximately 42,000 people visited the booth. Pikachu, sporting a Gujarat Titans jersey, was present on most home-game days to interact and pose for pictures with visitors, who also received free Pikachu stickers as mementos. Lucky kids from the Junior Titans program were also invited to the stadium for an exclusive meet-and-greet with Pikachu in the Gujarat Titans jersey.
A Unique Partnership for Fan Engagement
Colonel Arvinder Singh, COO of Gujarat Titans, commented on the successful collaboration: “Our partnership with The Pokémon Company reflects our focus on innovative fan engagement with an internationally recognised brand. From the Junior Titans initiative to in-stadium experiences, young fans were excited to interact with Pikachu, sporting Gujarat Titans colours — adding a unique dimension to our 2025 campaign.”

Beyond the Stadium: Pokémon Fiesta and Pokémon GO
Outside the stadium, Pikachu, still in the Gujarat Titans jersey, entertained visitors at Nexus One, Ahmedabad, as part of the Pokémon Fiesta. This fun-filled event featured dance shows, mini-games, and other attractions. Adding to the immersive experience, the Gujarat Titans logo was also displayed in-game on Poké Stops across Ahmedabad in Pokémon GO.
Connecting with New Audiences
Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer at The Pokémon Company, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership: “We are delighted to partner with Gujarat Titans and congratulate the team for reaching the Playoffs. This partnership gave us the opportunity to interact with young cricketers, in addition to the professional league team as well as the general public in Ahmedabad. We were able to tap into a new audience that we had been unable to reach so far. We hope our sports projects will keep connecting us with new partners and audiences through exciting collaborations.”
Pokémon aims to continue entertaining its existing fanbase and acquiring new fans by creating new points of contact and offering unique experiences. The brand hopes its collaboration with Gujarat Titans has made the 2025 league season more memorable for many cricket fans.
