Lucknow: A Ph.D. viva voce exam was held on the topic of, “Psychosocial Correlates of Flourishing among Revenue Personnel” by Garima Singh, a Research scholar under the supervision of Dr. Archana Shukla, Head, Department of Psychology, University of Lucknow.
The study explored the positive mental health and flourishing of the revenue personnel working in the government of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 150, Class 2 revenue officers participated in the study.
Flourishing refers to a state where an individual is living a fulfilling, happy, and meaningful life. The results of the research reflect that women personnel have interpreted flourishing more in terms of happiness and satisfaction while male personnel termed it in terms of success and potential. Female personnel have also experienced more social support from family, while male personnel termed friends as their major source of support. The personnel have also experienced higher dedication towards their work in the department.
The research is fundamental in promoting positive mental health and comprehensive well-being among revenue personnel. The research study contributes to society by enhancing the understanding of the ingredients of flourishing among the Indian population. The research scholar Garima Singh is currently working as a State Tax Officer in the Commercial Tax Department of Uttar Pradesh.
