Pepsi-Laden Container Crashes into Shops in Mahona, Lucknow: 3 Dead, 2 Injured

Lucknow – A tragic accident occurred late on the night of 28 January 2025, when a Pepsi-laden container, registration number UK 08 CA6948, lost control and crashed into several shops at Chaurasia Tiraha, Mahona in Lucknow. Upon receiving immediate information, local police swiftly reached the scene of the accident and launched a rescue operation.

The container’s impact resulted in severe damage to nearby shops and injured several people. Five individuals were rescued from the wreckage, and they were promptly taken to Lohia Hospital for medical treatment. Rescue operations continued throughout the night, with authorities working to remove debris from the crash site.

Injured Victims:

  1. Neeraj, son of Shiv Kishan, approximately 50 years old, resident of Mahona, Intauja, Lucknow
  2. Munna, son of Shiv Kishan, approximately 45 years old, resident of Mahona, Intauja, Lucknow

Deceased:

  1. Sanjeev, son of Ram Narayan, approximately 18 years old, resident of Mahona, Intauja, Lucknow
  2. Dinesh, son of Saty Narayan, approximately 22 years old, resident of Mahona, Intauja, Lucknow
  3. Shiva, son of Ashish, approximately 18 years old, resident of Mahona, Intauja, Lucknow

The injuries sustained by Neeraj and Munna are reported to be serious but stable, and they are currently receiving medical attention. Unfortunately, the other three individuals succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the hospital.

The local rescue teams, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police personnel, fire department, and revenue department, have been on-site throughout the night. Senior officials including the Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Bakshi Ka Talab, and District Disaster Expert are overseeing the debris clearance operation.

At present, efforts to remove the debris and assess the full extent of the damage are ongoing. The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and have assured that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

The community has expressed grief over the loss of lives, and the administration has promised to support the victims’ families during this difficult time. The situation at the accident site is under control, and peace is being maintained.
