Lucknow: The spirit of Holi came alive in a spectacular fashion at the Paper Mill Colony, Nishatganj, this year. The vibrant festivities drew large crowds as the community came together to celebrate the festival of colors with joy, music, and a lively fair.
As part of the Holi Mela (fair), 70 stalls were set up, offering a rich array of art, handicrafts, and a wide variety of traditional and modern cuisines, which delighted visitors of all age groups. The stalls buzzed with activity throughout the day, adding to the festive charm of the occasion.
The highlight of the event was a cultural program that captivated the audience. Renowned singer Omkar Shankhdhar enthralled attendees with his soulful voice and mesmerizing performance, filling the air with festive melodies and creating a musical atmosphere that had the audience enchanted.
As night fell, the community gathered for the Holika Dahan ceremony at 11:00 PM, in accordance with the auspicious timing. The sacred bonfire was lit, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, and the crowd watched in reverence as flames illuminated the night sky. Following the ritual, residents exchanged Holi greetings, applied colors, and danced joyfully to traditional Holi songs, embracing the essence of togetherness.
The event was marked by immense enthusiasm and harmony, providing city dwellers with an opportunity to celebrate Holi as a united community. Organizers extended heartfelt thanks to all participants, performers, and stall owners for their contributions in making the event memorable and colorful.
