Lucknow: Under the state government’s flagship “Mission Shakti” campaign, a series of extensive programs were conducted at district, block, and tehsil levels, reaching 29,193 girls. Female officials and motivational leaders engaged with the participants, providing guidance on life skills, self-defense, education, and career planning, significantly boosting their confidence and awareness.
Sandeep Singh, State Minister of Basic Education (Independent Charge), said that under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the government is committed to making girls empowered, safe, and self-reliant. He emphasized that dialogue and self-defense training under Mission Shakti play a crucial role in strengthening girls’ confidence. He directed that the campaign’s reach should be further expanded to ensure every girl benefits from these initiatives.
As part of the campaign, self-defense training sessions were conducted in 6,587 schools, teaching girls essential safety techniques. Additionally, 6,256 schools established “Self-Defense Clubs”, providing a platform for regular practice and continued skill development.

Monika Rani, Director General of School Education, noted that these sessions are fostering self-confidence, awareness, and decision-making abilities among girls. The Self-Defense Clubs ensure the training is systematic, continuous, and impactful.
The state government aims not only to advance girls’ education but also to develop them socially, mentally, and physically as secure, self-reliant, and empowered citizens.
