Over 2.5 lakh devotees turn up at Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Varanasi: Over 2.5 lakh devotees offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath (KV) Temple on the fourth Monday of Hindu holy month of Shravan.

Lord Shiva devotees from across the country, including scores of Kanwariyas flocked to Kashi on this auspicious day to offer their devotion. Many began queuing up late at night to have darshan of Baba Vishwanath.

Following the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, special arrangements were made to ensure smooth darshan and the security of devotees. On this fourth Monday of Shravan, Baba Vishwanath was adorned with Rudraksha, bringing immense joy to the devotees who came to witness this special form of Lord Shiva.

Since the start of Sawan on July 22, more than 40 lakh devotees have received blessings at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. (Figures recorded from July 22 to August 12 until 6 PM)

Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, stated, “Every Monday, Baba Vishwanath is adorned in a unique manner. This Monday, Baba was specially adorned with Rudraksha. By 6 PM on the fourth Monday of Sawan, over 2 lakh 48 thousand devotees had darshan of Baba, while more than 40 lakh 11,674 devotees have visited the temple during the Sawan month so far (figures from July 22 to August 12, 6 PM).”

The air at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam” throughout the month of Shravan. Devotees have expressed their appreciation for the newness and grandeur of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and they are pleased with the Yogi government’s arrangements for food, accommodation, and public facilities, which have ensured smooth darshan and excellent security.
