Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharmpal Singh said that under the Fodder Policy-2024, priority should be given to the production of green fodder on fallow/ pasture land for the availability of green fodder to destitute cattle throughout the year. Firstly, the work of sowing green fodder in 20 thousand hectares of area should be completed by August 15 as a campaign.
The availability of straw, green fodder and grains should be verified by effective monitoring and inspection in all the districts. Special attention should be paid to ensure that the cattle do not remain hungry at any cow shelter. Proper arrangement of light along with the provision of fresh water should be made at every cow shelter.
The officers going on the tour should submit the visit report only on the format prescribed by the government. Soling should be done in the cow shelters where there is a problem of water logging, so that the cattle can stand on it. The cattle roaming on the roads and in the villages should be protected in the cow shelter on priority basis. Ear tagging of livestock should be made mandatory and strict compliance should be ensured.
