Chhattisgarh-Telangana Border: In what is being hailed as the biggest anti-Naxal operation in India’s history, security forces have neutralized 31 dreaded Naxals within just 21 days in the Kurraguttalu Hills (KGH) region along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing the press lauded the forces for this historic success, declaring that “By March 31, 2026, Naxals will either surrender or be eliminated.” He emphasized that this operation marks a decisive turning point in India’s decades-long battle against Left-Wing Extremism.
“The tricolour now flies high over a region that was once a bastion of red terror,” Shah said.
Unified Naxal HQ Captured
Kurraguttalu Hills had long served as a unified headquarters for multiple top Naxal factions—including PLGA Battalion 1, DKSZC (Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee), TSC (Telangana State Committee), and CRC (Central Regional Command). The area was a hub for training, planning, and arms production, making it one of the most strategically vital strongholds for the insurgents.
Security forces, including the CRPF, Special Task Force (STF), and District Reserve Guard (DRG), led the assault under Operation Black Forest, braving rough terrain, treacherous weather, and high-risk zones.
Zero Casualty for Indian Forces
In a major feat, not a single casualty was reported on the side of the Indian forces. Shah praised the courage and professionalism of the troops:
“Despite the inhospitable conditions, our forces executed the mission with clinical precision. This victory is a testament to their courage and coordination,” he said, extending his congratulations to every soldier involved.
A Turning Point in the Anti-Naxal Mission
Home Minister Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism from the country:
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is resolute in its mission to eliminate the Naxal threat from its roots. I assure every citizen that by March 31, 2026, India will be free from the Naxalite menace.”
This landmark operation is expected to cripple the core of Naxal command structures, break their logistical chains, and accelerate the dismantling of remaining hideouts in central India. Intelligence sources indicate that several Naxal cadres are now considering surrender, fearing further offensives.
Nationwide Applause for Security Forces
As news of the operation spread, tributes and congratulations poured in from across the country. The tricolour hoisted atop Kurraguttalu stands not just as a symbol of reclaimed territory, but also of hope, sovereignty, and the tireless spirit of Indian security forces.
Operation Black Forest is now being studied as a template for future counter-insurgency campaigns, not just within India, but globally.
