Oath-Taking Ceremony of Newly Elected Executive of Tax Lawyers Association, Lucknow Held

Lucknow – The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected executive committee of the Tax Lawyers Association, Lucknow for the 2025–26 term was held this evening at 4:30 PM in the auditorium of the State Tax Building (6th Floor), 5 Mirabai Marg, Lucknow. All office bearers were elected unopposed.

The event was graced by  Janki Sharan Pandey, Member and Former Chairman, Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest, and  Anuj Kudeshia, Additional Advocate General, Government of Uttar Pradesh, as the Special Guest. The ceremony commenced with the garlanding of Maa Saraswati’s portrait and lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the administration of the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected office bearers:

  • President:  Jayaram Srivastava
  • Senior Vice President: Shri Om Kumar
  • Vice President:  Ashish Kumar Tripathi
  • General Secretary:  Ashwini Kumar Agrawal
  • Joint Secretary:  Deepak Kumar Srivastava
  • Finance Secretary:  Mohammad Amir
  • Library Secretary: Naresh Kumar Srivastava
  • Senior Executive Members:  Suresh Chandra Gupta, Shri Rakesh Kumar Gupta
  • Executive Members: Rohit Khanna, Shri Manas Gupta
  • The event was conducted by senior member  Umesh Chandra Shukla. Distinguished senior advocates —  K.C. Sinha,  M.C. Gupta,  G.N. Mehrotra,  H.B. Singh,  R.K. Sabharwal,  R.K.P. Khatta, and Dr. V.B. Srivastava — who have completed over 50 years of legal practice, were honoured with shawls and mementos, and each shared brief insights from their professional journeys.

In his address, Senior Vice President  Om Kumar highlighted various GST and VAT-related challenges in the tax sector, urging the need for concrete solutions. President  Jayaram Srivastava expressed gratitude to the Chief and Special Guests, discussed several issues faced by the legal fraternity, and proposed amendments to certain provisions of the Advocates Act, seeking support from the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh and the Bar Council of India.

Chief Guest Janki Sharan Pandey assured that all issues raised would be addressed with full support from the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh. Special Guest  Anuj Kudeshia praised the concept of the executive committee, emphasising the complementary relationship between the judiciary and the legal profession, and expressed confidence in the committee’s commitment to working sincerely in accordance with the association’s constitution.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by General Secretary  Ashwini Kumar Agrawal, acknowledging the presence and support of dignitaries, members of the Tax Lawyers Association, Sales Tax Bar Association, Tax Bar Association, and fellow advocates.
