NTPC Singrauli Highlights Outstanding Performance and Social Commitment

Sonebhadra, India – NTPC Singrauli held a press conference to share its recent operational achievements, future plans, and commitment to community development. The event, led by Executive Director & Project Head Sandeep Nayak, included top officials who addressed the media on various initiatives, highlighting the company’s role as a responsible corporate citizen.

Key Highlights and Future-Ready Initiatives

During the conference,  Nayak announced significant progress on the Stage-III (2×800 MW) Expansion Project. He noted that the project is on track to be completed with Unit-8 and Unit-9 operational by May and September 2028, respectively. This expansion will utilize ultra super critical technology to boost energy efficiency. A major milestone for the project was the successful installation of the boiler column for Unit #8 in July 2025.

Joseph Bastian, Chief General Manager (Operations & Maintenance), emphasized the company’s focus on safety, reliability, and innovation. He praised the engineering teams for their excellence in both operations and construction.

Commitment to the Community

NTPC Singrauli’s dedication to its community was a central theme of the conference.  Siddharth Mandal, Head of Human Resources, stated that the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies are designed for social impact rather than being a mere formality.

Key CSR initiatives include:

  • Healthcare: The Sanjeevani Hospital provides round-the-clock ACLS ambulance services, a mobile medical unit, and regular health camps for eye and Ayurvedic treatments.
  • Empowerment: In partnership with local organizations like “Vanita Samaj,” NTPC Singrauli is running programs for girl child empowerment and skill development. These programs offer training in sewing, computers, and mobile repair, among other skills.
  • Education: The company also provides educational support to local communities.

Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability

The press conference also addressed NTPC Singrauli’s environmental commitments, including its leadership in fly ash management. To further demonstrate its dedication to sustainable development, the event concluded with a tree plantation ceremony attended by senior officials and media representatives. This initiative highlighted the company’s efforts to promote a greener environment.

The press conference, managed by Dr. Om Prakash with a presentation by Jai Prakash Kushwaha, solidified NTPC Singrauli’s image as not only a leader in power generation but also an active partner in regional development.
