Sonebhadra: The Project Head’s NTPC Rihand interaction with media representatives, under the auspices of the Project Management, took place in a joyful and cordial atmosphere at the NTPC Rihand Project’s Shivalik Guest House. On this occasion, Chief General Manager and Project Head, Mr. Sanjay Asati, answered questions posed by media representatives with ease and confidence. He stated that the officers and employees of Rihand Station have the ability to accept challenges even in the most difficult circumstances. This dedication and willpower is what makes Rihand’s work culture unique.
In his address, the Project Head stated that NTPC Rihand, in terms of operational performance, has produced 19.74 billion units (BUs) in the financial year 2025-26, up to February 28, and ranks fourth among all NTPC thermal stations/projects with a PLF of 82.7%. This achievement demonstrates the project’s exceptional operational efficiency and its unwavering commitment to excellence in power generation.
In addition to its operational achievements, NTPC-Rihand has made significant contributions to social welfare by providing education to 720 girls through the GEM program over the last six years under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Fifty of these girls are receiving free education at the DAV School in the township.
Also, under its CSR initiative, desks and benches manufactured by inmates of Varanasi Jail were distributed to educational institutions near the project, ensuring a better learning environment for students. This initiative also provided employment opportunities to these inmates.

NTPC Rihand CSR is providing free healthcare services through mobile medical units in approximately 23 villages in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. A STEM lab was also established in a nearby educational institution, housing 80 working models of science and mathematics based on the curriculum for grades 6 to 8.
Media representatives, General Managers, officers etc. from Sonbhadra district headquarters, Renukut, Bijpur, Anpara, Singrauli and Vaidhan etc. were mainly present in the program.
