Unchahar: In a major community outreach initiative, NTPC Unchahar organised a large eye care camp at Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Umran, aimed at extending healthcare benefits to residents of nearby villages. The camp was held under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to support the well-being of local communities.
Project Head Abhay Kumar Srivastava said that NTPC remains committed to improving the quality of life of people living around its project areas. “Under our CSR policy, we continuously undertake welfare activities for the health and better living of the community. This initiative will continue in the days ahead,” he added.
Village heads Ranjeet Singh of Umran and Jitendra Singh of Murarmao lauded NTPC’s efforts, praising the positive impact such health camps create for rural families. NTPC’s eye specialist, Dr. A.K. Mishra, conducted medical examinations and registrations of patients. The company will also provide spectacles to beneficiaries as required.

Around 200 people availed of free eye check-ups and related services at the camp. Several senior officials, including HR Head Pankaj Kumar, CMO Dr. Madhu Singh, Additional General Manager Preeti Sinha, Dr. Disha Awasthi, and members of the CSR team, were present on the occasion.
NTPC announced that similar eye camps will be organised over the next two days at Gangehra Gulalganj and the Panchayat Bhawan in Unchahar Dehat.
