Raebareli: In a commendable step under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, NTPC Unchahar organized a free eye check-up camp at Jeevan Jyoti Hospital for local residents. The event was graced by Chief Guest Ashutosh Biswas, General Manager (Maintenance & Operation), and Jhumita Biswas, Vice President, Priyadarshini Ladies Club. Also present were Dilip Kumar Sahu, General Manager (Operation), and S.U. Haridas, General Manager (Maintenance).
Dr. Naveen Chandra, Chief Medical Officer of Raebareli, attended the event as the special guest and inaugurated the medical camp. In his address, Dr. Chandra commended NTPC’s continued dedication not only to illuminating homes across the country but also to ensuring the health, welfare, and holistic development of communities around its power stations. He lauded NTPC management for its sustained commitment to social well-being.
A team of three ophthalmologists conducted detailed eye examinations for participants. Patients diagnosed with cataracts were provided surgical treatment, while those suffering from general eye ailments received free medical consultation and medicines.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearby villages, with 301 individuals registering for eye check-ups. Among them, 148 patients were identified as suitable candidates for cataract surgery.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to NTPC Unchahar management for this noble initiative that brought light and vision back to many lives.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Madhu Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, with active support from departmental heads, Ajay Tripathi, DC-CISF, and representatives of the Union and Association.
Through such initiatives, NTPC continues to reaffirm its commitment to the comprehensive development and welfare of communities surrounding its power projects — truly living up to its mission of lighting every home and every heart across India.
