Gonda: The seven-day Special Camp organised by the National Service Scheme concluded on Sunday at Saraswati Devi Nari Gyansthali PG College with a vibrant closing ceremony held at Maharshi Aurobindo Bal Shiksha Mandir. The camp, conducted by the first and second units of NSS, was organised in the areas of Uparhitan Purwa and Janki Nagar.
The programme began in the presence of Chief Guest Vineet Jaiswal, along with Manoj Kumar Rawat. Other distinguished guests included Janki Nagar Gram Pradhan Shiv Bahadur Pandey, Principal Shiv Shankar Shukla, yoga trainer Anjani Kumar Dubey and Karunesh Patel.
The event opened with a traditional Saraswati Vandana and welcome song performed by NSS volunteers. Students also presented a dramatic dance performance depicting the poignant episode of Draupadi Cheer Haran from the Mahabharata, with Khushi, Kashish, Komal Mishra and Simran Shukla delivering notable performances. A self-composed patriotic poem titled “Main Hindustan Hoon” was recited by Nisha Yadav.
Cultural performances added vibrancy to the event, with dance presentations by Kavya Tiwari, Priya Patel and Arya Tiwari, while Maryam showcased a Taekwondo demonstration symbolising women’s empowerment. Savita Makkad presented a comprehensive report summarising the activities carried out during the seven-day camp.

Outstanding NSS volunteers were also recognised during the ceremony. Special Leader Radha Mishra, Super Leader Purnima Shukla, Discipline Leader Kashish Singh and Khushi Jaiswal, and Group Leaders Nisha Yadav, Shraddha Gangwar, Savita Makkad and Simran Shukla were honoured by the Gram Pradhan for their commendable contributions. The title of “Best NSS Volunteer 2025–26” was awarded to Shraddha Gangwar.
The programme was compered by Radha Mishra and organised under the guidance of Programme Officers Dr. Mausami Singh and Dr. Neetu Singh. The event concluded with encouraging remarks from College Principal Dr. Aarti Srivastava, Manager Dr. Anandita Rajat, former NSS Programme Officer Dr. Neelam Chhabra, Ranjana Bandhu and NSS staff members Vijay Prakash Srivastava and Dinesh Srivastava, who praised the dedication and efforts of the volunteers throughout the camp.
