Meerut – In a major breakthrough, Meerut Police gunned down notorious criminal Naeem, who was carrying a reward of ₹50,000 for his capture, during a fierce encounter in the Summer Garden area of Lisadi Gate police station jurisdiction. Naeem was wanted in connection with the brutal murders of five family members, including his stepbrother.
According to police officials, Naeem had been on the run for several months, and efforts to arrest him had been ongoing. Late Friday night, the police received a tip-off from an informant that Naeem was hiding in the Summer Garden locality. Acting on the intelligence, the police set up an operation in the area to apprehend the fugitive.
Around 3:00 AM on Saturday, the police attempted to encircle Naeem. However, upon realizing he was trapped, Naeem tried to flee and opened fire at the officers. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, Naeem was injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead shortly after his arrival.
Five Murders Linked to Naeem
Naeem was accused of the horrific murders of his stepbrother, a mason named Moinuddin, his wife Asma, and their three young daughters, Afsah (8), Azeezah (4), and Adebah (1). The gruesome incident occurred on January 9, 2025, in the Suhail Garden area. Naeem allegedly used a stone-cutting machine to carry out the killings.
The crime was discovered when Moinuddin’s brother arrived at the house and found the bloodstained bodies, prompting screams of horror. The murder shocked the community and made headlines across the region.
Criminal History of Naeem
According to Meerut Police, Naeem had a long history of criminal activity. He was involved in several serious offenses, including murders, in other states. SSP Vipin Tada confirmed that Naeem was carrying a weapon at the time of the encounter, and additional items have been recovered from the scene.
Police are conducting an in-depth investigation into the case and are following all leads to uncover any additional criminal activities tied to Naeem.
