Notorious Accused Arrested for Rape, Assault, and Criminal Intimidation

Lucknow: The Sushant Golf City Police have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of forcibly establishing physical relations with a woman, assaulting her, issuing death threats, and snatching her gold chain after forcefully entering her house.

Incident Summary:

On April 27, 2025, based on a written complaint filed by the victim, a case was registered against Sudhir Kumar for allegedly committing rape in the presence of one Sweety Sharma, extorting ₹70,000 from the complainant, blackmailing her, and threatening to kill her husband. He also reportedly forcefully entered the victim’s home, and upon resistance, physically assaulted her and snatched her gold chain.

An FIR (Crime No. 361/2025) was registered at the Sushant Golf City Police Station under Sections 69, 351(3), 333, 305(a), and 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

During the course of investigation, on May 1, 2025, Sub-Inspector Gyanendra Singh and his team, acting on a tip-off from a confidential informant, apprehended the accused near the Utraitia Bridge. The accused, identified as Sudhir Kumar, was taken into custody after being informed of the charges against him.

Following further investigation, Sections 305(a) and 304 BNS were dropped due to lack of evidence. However, Section 115(2) BNS (related to criminal intimidation and intent to cause harm) was added based on new findings.

The accused was subsequently produced before the Hon’ble Court for remand.
