Lucknow: The Noida Super Kings continued their dominant run in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UPT20) 2025, defeating Kanpur Superstars by seven wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. A fiery opening spell by Naman Tiwari (4-0-26-4) and Kunal Tyagi (3-0-13-3) destroyed Kanpur’s top order before fluent batting from Shivam Chaudhary (42 off 30), Mohammed Aashiyan (32 off 24), and a quick cameo from Ravi Singh (23 off 11) powered Noida to a comfortable win inside 12.2 overs.
With this victory, Noida Kings climbed higher up the points table, while Kanpur Superstars slipped further, left to rue another batting collapse.
Kanpur Superstars: From Bad to Worse
Batting first after losing the toss, Kanpur Superstars never found stability. Their innings folded at 114 all out in 18.4 overs, despite a fighting fifty from Sameer Rizvi (51 off 33, 4×1, 6×4).

The trouble began in the very first overs. After opener Faiz Ahmed (15 off 16, 3×4) struck a few boundaries, Naman Tiwari dismissed him, sparking a collapse. His new-ball partner Kunal Tyagi struck in successive overs, sending back Faiz Ahmed, Shubh Khanna (0 off 2), and trapping Shubham Khanna lbw, reducing Kanpur to 26/5 inside 5 overs.
The middle order fared no better. Shubham Mishra (17 off 27) tried to hang in, but his inability to rotate strike added pressure. Partnerships were fleeting—Rizvi and Mishra added 28 runs, and later, Rizvi’s late flurry with Bobby Yadav (4 off 7) brought some relief.
Rizvi stood tall amid the ruins, launching powerful sixes down the ground and through mid-wicket, briefly reviving Kanpur with three big hits off Ajay Kumar and Karn Sharma. But once Kartik Siddhu (2-0-5-2) dismissed him for 51, the innings collapsed again.
Tail-enders Bobby Yadav (4), Aaqib Khan (2), and Rahul Sharma (0) fell cheaply. Only Vineet Panwar (17 off 12, 1×4, 1×6) showed some resistance, but Naman Tiwari’s fourth wicket sealed Kanpur’s fate at 114.
Noida Super Kings: Confident in the Chase
Chasing a modest 115, the Noida Super Kings’ batting line-up made sure there were no hiccups. Despite losing opener Anivesh Choudhary (5 off 7) early to Aaqib Khan (1/27), they never looked under pressure.
Mohammed Aashiyan (32 off 24, 5×4, 1×6) played some sparkling strokes square of the wicket and down the ground, dominating the powerplay alongside Shivam Chaudhary. Their partnership of 65 runs for the second wicket broke the back of the chase. Aashiyan’s innings ended when Daman Deep Singh (2/35) had him caught by Shaurya Singh.
But the momentum had already swung firmly in Noida’s favor. Chaudhary took charge, mixing caution with aggression, and struck two towering sixes and four boundaries in his 42-run knock. He was well supported by Ravi Singh (23 off 11, 2×4, 2×6), who accelerated the chase with two sixes off Daman Deep Singh.
Even though Ravi fell at 110, Chaudhary sealed the game with a six and a four off Rahul Sharma in the 13th over, taking Noida to 120/3 in 12.2 overs, and a thumping seven-wicket win.
Star of the Match: Naman Tiwari
The night belonged to left-arm pacer Naman Tiwari, whose fiery spell dismantled Kanpur’s top and lower order. His final figures of 4-0-26-4 earned him the Player of the Match award, with wickets of Faiz Ahmed, Bobby Yadav, Sameer Rizvi, and Vineet Panwar.
Tiwari was well supported by Kunal Tyagi (3/13 in 3 overs), who delivered crucial strikes up front, and Kartik Siddhu (2/5 in 2 overs), who cleaned up the tail.
