Noida: In a major relief for industrial workers, Medha Roopam, District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, has issued a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure timely payment of wages and improved working conditions across the district.
Mandatory Salary by 10th of Every Month
Under the new directives, all companies and industrial units operating in the district must ensure that workers receive their salaries by the 10th of every month without delay. The administration has made it clear that any violation of this rule will attract strict action.
Double Pay for Overtime, No Illegal Deductions
The guidelines also mandate that workers performing overtime duties must be paid at double the standard wage rate. Additionally, any unauthorized deductions from wages have been declared punishable. Employers are now required to provide detailed salary slips to workers, ensuring transparency in payments.
Festival Bonus and Direct Bank Transfers
In a move aimed at supporting workers during festive seasons, the district administration has directed companies to provide bonuses, which must be credited directly into workers’ bank accounts by November 30.

Dedicated Control Room for Worker Grievances
To address labour-related concerns swiftly, the administration has established a dedicated control room where workers can lodge complaints and seek assistance regarding wage issues or workplace grievances.
Appeal for Cooperation and Calm
DM Medha Roopam has appealed to workers to remain vigilant against rumours and to cooperate with authorities in maintaining law and order. She emphasized that the administration is committed to safeguarding workers’ rights while ensuring industrial harmony in the region.
The new measures are expected to bring greater accountability among employers and provide much-needed financial security to thousands of workers in Gautam Buddh Nagar, a key industrial hub in Uttar Pradesh.
