Lucknow: Teacher’s Day in Lucknow is a special occasion celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect. The city’s schools and educational institutions often organize various events and activities to honor and appreciate their teachers.
Schools and colleges typically organize cultural programs that showcase the talents of students. These programs often include dance, music, drama, and poetry recitations. Many schools host special events dedicated to teachers, where they are honored for their contributions to education. These events may include speeches, awards, and gifts. Schools often encourage teacher-student interactions outside the classroom, such as picnics, sports events, or workshops. This fosters a closer bond between teachers and students.
Overall, Teacher’s Day in Lucknow is a time to express gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the future of the city. Sharing his thoughts on this special occasion,
Prof. Bharat Raj Singh, Director General (Tech), School of Management Sciences, Lucknow says – Teacher’s Day in India is celebrated on September 5th every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher and educator. In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, the role of a teacher has evolved beyond just imparting knowledge. A modern-day teacher is a mentor, a guide, and a facilitator who fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in students.
Shweta Srivastava, Principal, Foster Kids Play School & Day Care, a seasoned educator says – Teacher’s Day is important because it recognizes and celebrates the dedication, hard work, and impact that teachers have on students’ lives. Teachers play a vital role in shaping young minds, fostering curiosity, and inspiring future generations.
Pratima Tripathi, Director, Kidzee & Mount Litera Zee School is of the view – teacher’s day is very important as that is the day when they enjoy as a normal human being because entire year they are having many layers of responsibilities. It is important for the management that they keep teacher’s happy and let every teacher enjoy. Modern time demands that teacher should be good at technology, games , creativity and most importantly empathetic.
Lucknow’s Shahid Abdi having year’s of experience in academics says -5th September, the day dedicated to teachers, is now losing its real meaning. Respect and honour for teachers is now limited to formal award ceremonies where instead of encouraging them, they are demoralised by giving them advice. This trend not only hurts teachers but also the dignity of education in society.
Pankaj Pandey, Founder, Footprints Pre school and Day Care at Gomtinagar Extension says teachers day is a day to show gratitude to teachers for their hard work and dedication. Role of Modern teachers is not only to educate them, but also counsel them, be their friend when they need one, be a shoulder to cry on and help them become valuable members of society.
Hemant Agrawal of EuroKids, Ganga Vihar Chinhat is of the view – Teacher’s Day is important for several reasons – It Recognizes dedication, encourages appreciation, boosts morale, helps modern-day teachers and facilitates learning furthermore it supports students’ emotional growth, builds confidence, and inspires them to reach their potential.
Ajay Prasad, Owner, Aim High Classes Gomtinagar Extension in a divergent view points out – I do not find Teachers’ Day very important because according to me the role of a teacher is such that every day should be a great day for a teacher so that he or she can keep doing his work like this and do it well.
Overall in hindsight, teachers will also have to get out of this trend that I am an excellent teacher, honour me. Because no student ever says that Sir, honour me, I have scored so many marks or gained so much knowledge. It is his teacher who evaluates him and then he is honoured/rewarded. We all need to understand that Teachers’ Day should not be just a formality. It is a day to honour the dedication, sacrifice and knowledge of our teachers.
