Gandhinagar: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) celebrated its 4th Convocation at its main campus in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Finance Minister and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, as the Chief Guest, alongside Gujarat’s Finance Minister, Kanubhai Mohanlal Desai, who served as the Guest of Honour.
A total of 447 students were conferred degrees and diplomas, including 32 students from RRU’s regional campus in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow campus has carved a niche in providing specialized education in national security and skill development. The graduating students pursued courses such as the Post Graduate Diploma in Safety and Security, Post Graduate Diploma in Strength and Conditioning, and Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics.
In her keynote address, Nirmala Sitharaman urged the youth to rise to the challenges of an evolving world, particularly in the domains of cyber security and financial crime prevention. She underscored the importance of maintaining a delicate balance between fostering digital public infrastructure and safeguarding national security.
The convocation also celebrated several significant achievements of RRU, including:
- Hosting the World Police and Fire Games 2029, an international event fostering collaboration and skill-sharing among global security professionals.
- Recognition as a Maritime Training Institute, emphasizing the university’s role in enhancing India’s coastal and maritime security capabilities.
- Designation as a Nodal Centre for National Defence Studies, reinforcing its leadership in defence and security education.
Recognized as a Centre of Excellence in National Security and Police Education by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RRU continues to set benchmarks in security education both nationally and globally.
