Newly appointed PCS officers reached STP Bharwara, understood the technical process of urban water management

Lucknow: 50 newly appointed PCS officers undergoing training under the Uttar Pradesh Academy of Administration and Management (UPAAM) visited the 345 MLD Bharwara Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the capital Lucknow on Friday. The purpose of this study tour was to make the officers aware of the functioning of the urban water management system and modern processes of sewage treatment.

During the visit, the officers inspected various units of the treatment plant and closely understood the phased process of sewage treatment. The technical team of Suez gave them detailed information about water quality, purification of wastewater and compliance with environmental standards. The officers were told how dirty water is cleaned with scientific techniques in this plant and converted into useful water, which not only conserves water resources but also makes a significant contribution towards the goals of sustainable development.

On this occasion, Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director, Suez welcomed the officers and wished them all the best for the future. He said that such programs provide the newly appointed officers with a ground understanding of urban infrastructure and its management, so that they can play a more effective role in policy making and implementation in future.

The newly trained officers described the tour as informative and useful and emphasized the need for such technical tours in future.
