Lucknow: BJP MLA from Sarojini Nagar, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, has strongly reacted to the letter of support written by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to Umar Khalid, accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case.
The MLA wrote in his social media post: “NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani should run New York- not interfere in India’s internal matters.
Defending Umar Khalid-who faces serious charges under India’s UAPA in the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case and appointing Ramzi Kassem, who defended al-Qaeda detainees, exposes a disturbing ideological bias.
This is not justice.It’s political posturing. Stay out of India.
Respect sovereignty..”
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh appealed for upholding full respect towards India’s sovereignty and judicial process.
