Lucknow: The Gomtinagar Railway Station is now nearly ready to operate several new train services, with plans to launch routes to Indore, Mumbai, Puri, Gaya, and Katra after Diwali. These services are expected to include semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains and modern Amrit Bharat Express trains, aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and connectivity.
Currently, Vande Bharat trains from Lucknow run to destinations including Patna, Dehradun, Anand Vihar, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Meerut, and efforts are underway to further expand these services. The second phase of development at Gomtinagar station is almost complete, bringing it to world-class standards and increasing its capacity to handle more train operations.
Specifically, routes to Mumbai, Puri (Odisha), and Katra (Jammu & Kashmir) are planned from Gomtinagar, while Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Gaya (Bihar) trains will operate from Charbagh station. The move is expected to relieve pressure on existing routes, such as the Nilachal Express to Puri and the Pushpak Express to Mumbai, reducing crowding and wait times.

Railway officials confirmed that schedules and final preparations are underway. Once launched, these routes will offer passengers fast, modern, and comfortable travel options through both semi-high-speed and conventional services.
