New Executive Committee of State Nurses Association Formed; Oath Administered

Shirley Bhandari Re-elected as President; Ashok Kumar Becomes General Secretary for the 14th Time

Lucknow: In a major development, the Rajkiya Nurses Association, Uttar Pradesh has announced its new executive committee for the year 2025. The elections were held at Vigyan Bhavan, Balrampur Hospital, where Dr. Alok Saxena, Election Observer and Joint Director (Nursing), Directorate of Health Services, along with Rajeev Chaudhary, Indesh Mani Tripathi, and Pawan Saxena, Principal Assistants, officially declared the results.

The newly elected office-bearers were administered the oath of office and responsibility during the ceremony.

For the second consecutive term, Shirley Bhandari was unanimously elected as the President, while Ashok Kumar created history by being chosen unopposed as General Secretary for the 14th consecutive time.

The entire executive body was elected unopposed, reflecting unity and consensus within the association. The new team includes:

  • Rajendra Shukla – Vice President (Gorakhpur)

  • Satyendra Kumar – Vice President (Lucknow)

  • Radha Rani Verma – Vice President (Aligarh)

  • Satish Kumar Tyagi – Vice President (Agra)

  • Pawan Mishra – Vice President (Meerut)

  • Ram Gopal – Joint Secretary (Firozabad)

  • Rama Singh – Joint Secretary (Lucknow)

  • Shashi Lata Verma – Joint Secretary (Sitapur)

  • Saghir Ahmad – Joint Secretary (Kanpur)

  • Kamini Singh – Joint Secretary (Moradabad)

  • Vinay Kumar Singh – Auditor (Lucknow)

The announcement was met with enthusiasm and applause from members and attendees. The re-election of experienced leaders like Bhandari and Kumar is being seen as a reaffirmation of confidence in their leadership and commitment to the welfare of nursing professionals across Uttar Pradesh.

The new committee pledged to continue working toward improving the service conditions, professional development, and dignity of nurses serving in government healthcare institutions across the state.
