New Academic Session Begins in Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, Opening Doors to Quality Education for Rural Talent

Lucknow: A new chapter in the educational journey of rural and underprivileged children began on Tuesday as the new academic session commenced at the Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, operated by the Social Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh.

Marking the first day of the session, a warm and vibrant welcome was organized for students across all campuses. Schools came alive with cultural performances, motivational sessions, and enthusiastic participation from students and teachers alike. The spirit of learning was met with smiles, applause, and a renewed sense of purpose as children returned to classrooms after the summer break.

Teachers motivated students for the year ahead, emphasizing not just academic excellence but also holistic development. The department has ensured that all essential facilities such as sanitation, clean drinking water, electricity, seating arrangements, and hostels are fully functional from day one. Provisions for nutritious meals and regular health check-ups have also been implemented across campuses.

This session, special emphasis is being placed on co-curricular growth. Schools will focus on sports, music, arts, and creative learning, alongside academics. Directives have been issued for proper maintenance of smart classrooms, libraries, and modern science labs to enhance experiential learning.

Currently, 100 Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are operational across Uttar Pradesh, offering completely free residential education to meritorious students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and other marginalized sections. This year, 9 new schools have become functional, and hostel facilities are being expanded in 45 existing schools, ensuring that more rural talents can access quality education without financial burden.

With a blend of inclusive infrastructure, innovative pedagogy, and a mission to uplift every child through opportunity, Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are fast becoming beacons of hope for rural education in Uttar Pradesh.
