Nephew Steals Jewelry Worth Lakhs from Uncle’s House, Arrested in 12 Hours

Lucknow: In a shocking incident, a nephew has been arrested for stealing jewelry worth lakhs from his uncle’s house in the Kaiserbagh area of Lucknow. The theft occurred late  night, and the Kaiserbagh Police managed to apprehend the accused within just 12 hours of the crime.

According to the information, Mohammad Saleem, a resident of Bagh Munnoo, had gone with his family to attend a wedding in Daliganj on the night of the theft. During their absence, his nephew Mohammad Shadab arrived at the house, claiming that his car had broken down. Taking advantage of the situation, Shadab took the scooter parked outside, which also had the key to the house’s almari (cupboard).

Theft Discovered Upon Return

When Saleem and his family returned from the wedding, they noticed that the almari was open, and they immediately realized that their valuable jewelry was missing. They quickly reported the theft to the Kaiserbagh Police Station.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Based on initial suspicion, the Kaiserbagh Police swiftly began their investigation and, within 12 hours, tracked down Shadab near the Amerudula Library. During intense interrogation, Shadab eventually confessed to the crime. The police uncovered a large quantity of stolen goods, including jewelry worth lakhs and a 12-bore rifle with 120 live cartridges.

Police Action and Court Proceedings

The police successfully recovered the stolen items and arrested Shadab for the theft and illegal possession of firearms. The accused was presented before the court, and he has been sent to jail. This quick and successful operation by the Kaiserbagh Police has been lauded, showcasing their efficiency in tackling crimes and ensuring justice.
