LUCKNOW – As part of the grand sports and fitness activities organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand (August 29), a ‘Sunday on Cycle’ rally was held on August 31, 2025. The event, which took place at the K.D. Singh Babu Stadium, was flagged off by the chief guest, Dr. Neeraj Bora, a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Dr. Bora extended his best wishes to the athletes for their bright future.
In addition to the rally, a hockey tournament was organized at the mini stadium in Vijayant Khand, Lucknow. The competition was held under the joint auspices of the Regional Sports Office and the Sports Authority of India, featuring players from the Khelo India Hockey Center.
The hockey tournament was inaugurated by Shri Atul Sinha, Regional Sports Officer, Lucknow, who also presented awards to the players of both teams. The event was attended by Shri Ranjeet Raj, Deputy Sports Officer; Shri Rajesh Gaud, Deputy Sports Officer; Shri Rishi Kumar, International Hockey Coach; and other dignitaries. The events aimed to promote sports and fitness among the youth and honor the legacy of the hockey legend.
