National PG College Organizes Much-Awaited TechFest 4.0

Lucknow: The Computer Science Department of National PG College successfully organized its much-anticipated “TechFest 4.0,” an event that brought together students, faculty, and industry professionals in a celebration of innovation, creativity, and education. The event commenced  with a Saraswati Vandana, setting a traditional and auspicious tone for the day.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of National PG College Principal, Professor Devendra Kumar Singh, Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Shalini Lamba, and Head of the Physical Education Department, Professor Rakesh Pathak. The esteemed guests included  Tarun Tandon, a cybersecurity expert,  Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal of Birla Vidya Mandir, Nainital, and  Sanjay Gupta, Finance and Accounts Manager at Birla Vidya Mandir, Nainital. The Principal applauded the participation of students from various colleges and encouraged them to actively engage in the rapidly evolving field of technology.

Tarun Tandon’s insights on cybersecurity and online safety were highly relevant in today’s digital age. His guidance underscored the significance of incorporating technology responsibly in modern education and daily life.

The day was packed with various events and competitions designed to challenge and inspire students. One of the main attractions was the “Cyber Show,” where students presented theatrical performances highlighting the risks and challenges of cybercrime, effectively educating the audience about online safety.

For coding enthusiasts, the “Code Golf” competition tested participants’ ability to solve coding problems using the least number of lines. Meanwhile, the “Art Burst” poster competition encouraged students to creatively express their understanding of technology. Another exciting event, “Prompt Matrix,” focused on AI-generated image creation, allowing students to explore the potential of artificial intelligence. The “Memeify” competition added a fun element, as students created humorous memes based on college life and classroom experiences, providing a refreshing break from the more technical aspects of the festival.

A major highlight of the event was the exhibition of innovative projects. Students showcased remarkable creations such as an automated dustbin, a two-wheel balancing robot designed for delivery and surveillance, and a sound-reactive LED system that transformed sound into light patterns. Other notable exhibits included a Wi-Fi jammer, which demonstrated the technical aspects of network disruption and control.

The excitement continues on the second day of TechFest 4.0, scheduled for February 7, 2025. The “Explorene” segment will feature physical models of students’ innovative ideas, giving participants the opportunity to witness real-world prototypes of future technologies. A popular gaming event, “PUBG,” will provide a competitive platform for students to showcase their gaming skills. Additionally, the festival will integrate games, food stalls, and entertainment, ensuring a holistic and engaging experience for all attendees.

The first day of TechFest 4.0 at National PG College concluded successfully, setting the stage for another day of thrilling technological exploration and competition.
