National P.G. College fostering startup state of mind

Lucknow: As part of the initiative to motivate students towards startups and develop entrepreneurial skills, Udyam Suvidha Kendra (Enterprise Facilitation Centre) of the Department of Commerce has guided and encouraged students at UC IIT. This effort has been going on for a year under the guidance of Prof. Devendra Kumar Singh, Principal of the college and has now come to a final form with his support.

In this effort, the first stage of pitching competition was organized on October 25, 2024 at UC IIT campus in which some students were shortlisted. These students were trained for analytical skills and presented for the second and final stage of pitching competition on November 20, 2024 at the campus of Institute for Industrial Development (IID).

Eight teams (100 in 100) participated in this competition. All the participants were successfully selected for incubation by IIT Lucknow. The participating students were Shreya Nagar (IIT), Harshita Gupta (IIT Bhopal), Simran Kapoor (IIT Bhopal), Shreya Biswas (IIT Bhopal), Anchitya Shukla (IIT Bhopal), Diksha Kumari (IIT Bhopal), Aditya Tripathi (IIT Bhopal), Janit Sharma (IIT Bhopal), Harsh Mishra (IIT Bhopal) and Saad Malik (IIT Bhopal).

All the students were awarded certificates and assured of necessary support to incubate their ideas. They were also assured of mentorship and support by IIT Lucknow. CA Mukesh Shukla, Director, IIT appreciated the pitches of all the students. Jury members Dr. Amit Sinha, Mr. R.K. Saxena (Senior Strategist), and CA Lata Murjani were present on the occasion. Dr. Anuradha Sharma and Head of Commerce Department, Prof. Jyoti Bhargava were also present to support the students.
