Lucknow: Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh conducted an inspection of ongoing road construction under Phase-1 of the Chief Minister’s (CM) Grid Scheme. He reviewed the progress of works at seven key locations across the city and later chaired a high-level meeting with officials from the Engineering Branch, Jal Kal, Power Corporation, Architecture Department, and other related departments at the Municipal Corporation Headquarters.
Work to Resume Within a Week After Festival Break
During the meeting, Commissioner Singh instructed officials to restart all halted construction works within a week. These works had been temporarily paused due to a shortage of laborers during the recent festival period. He emphasized the critical importance of the CM Grid Scheme in strengthening the city’s basic infrastructure and strictly warned officials against any negligence in execution.
Singh also announced that another review meeting would be held in a week’s time, directing all departments to submit a comprehensive progress report.

As part of the CM Grid Scheme, several prominent locations in Lucknow are undergoing upgradation and beautification. The Municipal Commissioner reviewed the ongoing works at the following sites:
- Gol Market to Kapurthala Chauraha Temple Road – Upgradation and beautification in progress.
- Kalidas Chauraha to Atal Chowk via Civil Hospital – Beautification efforts are underway to enhance the route.
- University Road to Hanuman Setu Dhan Road via RBL Road Chauraha (Kalakankar Road) – Road improvements aimed at easing traffic flow.
- Purnia Aliganj Road to Goel Mama Road via Sulabh Toilet, Savitri Apartment – Beautification work is progressing rapidly.
- Tadikhan Divider Road to Vindhyachal Temple and Bati Chokha via Pappu General Store – Full-scale upgradation of the route.
- IGNOU Mod to Allen House School – Road upgradation and beautification work in progress.
- Rajnikhand Power House to Sainik Dhaba, Raebareli Main Road – Road improvements for better traffic movement.

The CM Grid Scheme is expected to significantly improve urban aesthetics while ensuring smoother traffic movement, especially at key intersections and high-traffic roads. Commissioner Singh directed increased field visits by officials and stressed maintaining high quality standards in the work.
