Mumbai: A spectacular celebration of India’s jewellery craftsmanship, tradition, and innovation is set to unfold as the All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) gears up to host the 9th edition of the India Gems and Jewellery Show (GJS April 2026). Scheduled from April 4 to 7 at the Jio World Convention Centre, the prestigious B2B exhibition promises to redefine industry benchmarks under its theme, “Akshaya Kala: The Eternal Art.”

The event will be inaugurated by Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule as the Chief Guest, while veteran industry figure Javerilal V. Mandalia, popularly known as Zaveri Kaka, will grace the occasion as Guest of Honour.

With over 400 exhibitors and more than 700 booths, GJS 2026 is expected to draw upwards of 15,000 visitors, including leading jewellers, designers, and buyers from across the country and beyond. The show will serve as a key platform for unveiling cutting-edge designs and forging business collaborations.

Strategically timed ahead of the wedding season and the auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya, the exhibition is poised to inject fresh momentum into the jewellery market. This year, lightweight gold jewellery and contemporary diamond designs are expected to dominate trends, reflecting evolving consumer preferences.

In addition to the exhibition, the “Manthan” thought leadership forum will bring together industry experts to chart a roadmap for positioning India as the “Jeweller to the World” by 2047, reinforcing the country’s ambition to lead the global gems and jewellery sector.

GJS 2026 thus stands not only as a trade event but as a visionary platform shaping the future of India’s glittering jewellery industry.
