Lucknow: A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed on 17 January 2026 between the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow and the CSIR–Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR–IITR), Lucknow at the IITR campus.
The MoU was signed on behalf of RMLIMS by the Additional Registrar, Dr. Manish Kumar Verma, with Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma, Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine, RMLIMS, as a witness. The signing ceremony was held in the august presence of the Director General, CSIR, Dr. N.Kalaiselvi.

This MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between the two premier institutions in the domains of academics, research, and capacity building. The collaboration will encompass:
Joint research projects
Academic exchange of faculty members and scientists
Training programs, workshops, and seminars
Mentorship and capacity development for students and research scholars
Cooperation in medical sciences, toxicology, and allied biomedical fields

The agreement will remain effective for a period of five years and may be extended by mutual consent. Through this partnership, both institutions will leverage their respective resources, expertise, and experience to foster innovation and excellence in health sciences and research.
Representatives of both institutions expressed confidence that this collaboration will not only benefit Uttar Pradesh but will also contribute significantly at the national level by advancing medical research, toxicology, public health, and academic excellence. The MoU is expected to open new avenues for young researchers and students, while promoting socially relevant and impactful research.
This initiative marks an important step toward the shared goals of academic excellence, innovation, and social responsibility.
