The meeting was attended by several dignitaries and officials, including Mayor Dr. Umesh Gautam, District Panchayat President Rashmi Patel, MLCs Kunwar Maharaj Singh and Bahoran Lal Maurya, MLAs Dr. M.P. Arya (Nawabganj), Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal (Faridpur), Dr. D.C. Verma (Meerganj), representatives of the Environment Minister, Pilibhit MP, Cantt MLA, and Bhojipura MLA. Review of Previous Issues

The meeting began with a review of action taken on issues raised in previous meetings. MLC Bahoran Lal Maurya had earlier highlighted the poor condition of the Pachdaura-Raup-Pakhurni Road on Nainital Road and requested its repair and widening. Officials informed that the road has been included in the 2025–26 development plan.

Faridpur MLA Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal had raised concerns about the damaged bridge at Mudia Bhikampur and Bhadarkhpur-Mudia Road. It was informed that since the road falls under the District Panchayat, repair work has been included in next year’s plan.

Nawabganj MLA Dr. M.P. Arya raised the issue of substandard handpump reboring. Instructions were given for the District Panchayat Raj Officer to provide a list of re-bored handpumps to the Jal Nigam for inspection.

New Issues Highlighted

MP Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar pointed out that roads near the Panwadia and Rajpura bridges between Baheri and Bareilly have been cut off and need immediate repairs.

MLA Arya also highlighted a black spot at the Apsara River between Dalelnagar and Adhakata, where frequent accidents occur. Officials said it was included in last year’s plan but did not receive approval; it has again been proposed this year. He also suggested widening the Kudra Kothi Road and raised flood-related erosion issues in Amin Nagar village.

Meerganj MLA Dr. D.C. Verma requested filling the potholes on both sides of the Shahi-Mirzapur-Atamanda CC Road to prevent accidents. He also recommended constructing a regulator at the Dhakia Dam and sending a proposal for a pontoon bridge at Shampur-Hardoi.

MLC Kunwar Maharaj Singh mentioned a narrow bridge near the new jail on Bisalpur Road that often leads to accidents. Officials responded that the road falls under NH jurisdiction, and coordination would be established for the work. He also requested repairs on the damaged Ichauriya section of the Bareilly-Badaun Road.

Electricity and Other Concerns

Several representatives raised issues related to electricity supply, including long outages and delays in transformer installations despite deposits being made. Complaints were specifically made against SDOs in Bhuta and Faridpur, following which the District Magistrate ordered their transfers.

Concerns were also raised under the Jal Jeevan Mission, especially regarding poor road conditions in villages and irregular water supply. Additionally, MLAs from Nawabganj and Baheri complained about delayed payments to sugarcane farmers by Nawabganj and Baheri sugar mills. The District Sugarcane Officer informed the gathering that RC recommendation has been sent for Baheri Sugar Mill.

Cultural Support

The meeting concluded with the distribution of musical instruments to local artists by the dignitaries.

This monthly forum continues to serve as a vital link between elected representatives and the administration in addressing grassroots-level issues effectively.
