Mohsina Kidwai’s Demise Marks the End of an Era: Ajay Rai

Lucknow: A condolence meeting was held at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee office in Lucknow to pay tributes to senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai, whose passing has been described as the end of an era.

On the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Rai, along with senior party leaders and workers, offered floral tributes to the late leader and remembered her contributions to public life.

After paying respects, Ajay Rai said that Mohsina Kidwai’s political and social journey was deeply inspiring. He highlighted that during her tenure as state Congress president, the party secured its own office at Nehru Bhavan. He also noted that shortly before her demise, she signed the power of attorney to formally transfer Nehru Bhavan in the name of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, completing an important task for the organisation.

Describing her as a dedicated leader, Rai said she consistently worked towards public service and strengthening the ideology of the Congress party. He termed her demise an irreparable loss for the Congress family and said her legacy would continue to guide future generations.

Leaders and workers present at the meeting observed a two-minute silence to pray for the peace of the departed soul.

Several senior leaders, including former MLA Shyam Kishore Shukla, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, Pappu Chaudhary, former state treasurer Shiv Pandey, former minister Dr C.P. Rai, District Congress Committee President Rudra Daman Singh, City Congress President Amit Srivastava Tyagi, and many others, attended the condolence meeting and paid their respects.
