Action taken in 1282 cases of misuse of beacon lights and flags in vehicles and 2195 cases of violation of Loudspeaker Act. 153 FIRs registered for holding meetings and speeches without permission, distributing cash to voters, beacon lights in vehicles, misuse of flags and other cases.
Lucknow: Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Navdeep Rinwa said that with the announcement of the election dates of Lok Sabha General Election-2024 by the Election Commission of India on March 16, 2024, there is a need to conduct free, fair, peaceful, fear-free, temptation-free, inclusive and safe voting in the state. For this, the model code of conduct is being effectively implemented in the entire state.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that to ensure effective compliance of the Model Code of Conduct, a total of 1,84,06,531 publicity materials have been removed from public and private places so far. In this, 1,13,67,315 promotional materials were removed from public places and 70,39,216 promotional materials were removed from private places. During this period, action was taken in 13,04,328 cases of wallwriting, 51,18,359 of posters, 31,42,232 of banners and 18,02,396 other cases from public places.
Similarly, action was taken in 10,12,978 cases of wallwriting, 32,66,996 of posters, 17,87,877 of banners and 9,71,365 other cases in private places. Similarly, till now action has been taken in 1282 cases of misuse of beacon lights and flags in vehicles and 2195 cases of violation of the Loudspeaker Act. 153 FIRs have been registered for holding meetings and speeches without permission, distributing cash to woo voters, beacon lights in vehicles, misuse of flags and other cases, and reports have been registered in a total of 162 cases including 09 in NCR.
