Lucknow: As part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s flagship women empowerment initiative Mission Shakti 5.0, the Aliganj Police organised a comprehensive awareness programme at Gurudwara Chandganj, Aliganj, on December 27, 2025, with the aim of sensitising women, adolescent girls and children about their rights, safety and the support systems available to them.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Police Commissioner, Lucknow, in accordance with the vision of the Uttar Pradesh Government and the directions of the Director General of Police. Mission Shakti 5.0, which has been underway across the state since September 22, 2025, seeks to give renewed momentum and direction to women empowerment by strengthening safety mechanisms and awareness at the grassroots level.
Focus on Safety, Rights and Cyber Awareness
During the event, the Aliganj police team distributed pamphlets and held direct interactions with 20–25 women and children, educating them about women-centric laws, protection mechanisms and preventive measures against crimes, including the rising threat of cyber fraud. Special emphasis was laid on women’s safety, self-reliance, cyber awareness, and child-focused sensitisation through discussions on good touch–bad touch.
Officials explained that Mission Shakti functions as a safe support and assistance system for women facing domestic violence, dowry harassment, sexual abuse or any other form of violence. Beyond immediate intervention, the initiative also acts as a long-term support framework, guiding women towards confidence, self-reliance and social participation.
Mission Shakti Centres in All Police Stations
In a significant institutional step, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate has established Mission Shakti Centres in all 54 police stations across the district. These centres are designed to provide legal assistance, counselling, protection and coordinated support services under one roof, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to accessible and responsive policing for women.

The mission’s core objective, they said, is not only to provide assistance but to act as a guide and partner in women’s journey towards dignity, confidence and self-reliance.
Through such grassroots-level outreach initiatives, the Lucknow Police aims to strengthen community participation, promote shared responsibility for safety, and ensure that awareness about women and child protection reaches every section of society.
