Mission Shakti 5.0 Awareness Drive at Mohanlalganj Bus Stand: Promoting Women’s Safety, Support Services, and Welfare Schemes

Lucknow: Under the flagship initiative Mission Shakti 5.0, aimed at ensuring women and child safety and empowerment, a special awareness campaign was conducted today at Mohanlalganj Bus Stand in Lucknow. The program is part of a series of district-wide activities organized by the Lucknow Police Commissionerate to raise awareness about safety measures, legal rights, and government support services for women.

Organizing Team:
The awareness campaign was led by the women police team of Mohanlalganj Police Station, including:

  • Sub-Inspector Poonam Yadav
  • Sub-Inspector Megha Tiwari
  • Sub-Inspector Akanksha Rajput
  • Constable Sapna

Event Overview:
The team conducted an interactive awareness drive at the bus stand, engaging with passengers, particularly women and children, providing information on various aspects of women’s safety, empowerment, and legal protections. Approximately 50–70 participants, including female travelers, students, and children, were directly informed about safety measures and government initiatives.

Key Awareness Points:

  • Information on Women Safety Centres, Women Help Desks, and emergency helpline numbers: 1076, 1090, 181, 112, 1930, 102.
  • Guidance on cyber safety and precautions against online fraud.
  • Details of government welfare schemes and empowerment programs, including initiatives run by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, encouraging women to access these services.

Objective and Significance:
The campaign aimed to boost confidence and awareness among women, ensure easy access to police support, and highlight the importance of women’s empowerment in society. The initiative reflects the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s vision of creating a safe, empowered, and self-reliant environment for every woman.

Mission Shakti 5.0 continues to play a vital role in fostering community engagement, legal literacy, and proactive safety measures, ensuring that women and children are better prepared and protected in public spaces.
