Lucknow: The Mohanlalganj Police have successfully rescued a minor girl who had been missing for almost two years and arrested the accused in a major breakthrough. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner of Lucknow, Shri Amrendra Singh Sengar, with supervision by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Shri Nipun Agrawal, and strategic direction from the Assistant Police Commissioner (South) and Mohanlalganj Police Station team.
Case Background
On April 3, 2024, a complaint was filed in Lucknow stating that the complainant’s 16-year-old daughter had been lured and taken away by Vivek alias Arjun, son of Mahesh, resident of Daudpur, Police Station Nigoha, Lucknow. An FIR (No. 125/24) was registered at Mohanlalganj Police Station under Sections 363 and 366 of the Indian Penal Code.
During the investigation, the initially named suspect was found not involved in the crime, having been identified only on suspicion. The police strengthened their intelligence network and utilized advanced technological resources to track the case.
Rescue and Arrest
On March 21, 2026, the police received a crucial tip-off. Acting strategically, the Mohanlalganj Police conducted a cordon near Raipur T-junction on the Sisendi-Maurawan route and safely recovered the minor girl.
During the operation, a man identified himself as Shravan Kumar, son of Nand Ram, resident of Kaimau, Police Station Baghauli, District Hardoi, aged approximately 32 years. Upon questioning, he admitted to abducting the girl in 2024. Following proper legal procedures, Shravan Kumar was arrested around 5:00 PM on March 21, 2026. The rescued girl was handed over to her family after necessary legal formalities.
