Lucknow : In a heartwarming development, a four-year-old girl who had gone missing from the Chinhat area of Lucknow was successfully traced and reunited with her family by a joint team of the Surveillance Unit (East Zone) and Chinhat Police.
The incident dates back to April 26, 2025, when the child was reported missing. Her father lodged a missing complaint at Chinhat Police Station on April 27, following which a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered (Case No. 194/2025).
Swift Police Action and Investigation
Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Zone) and the guidance of the Additional DCP (East) and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vibhutikhand, and leadership of the Station House Officer, Chinhat, a detailed investigation was launched.
Sub-Inspector Sushil Kumar Pasi was assigned as the Investigating Officer. Responding to the urgency, four special teams were formed to locate the missing girl. The teams conducted a thorough review of CCTV footage from nearly 150 houses in the surrounding areas and nearby routes.
Breakthrough from CCTV and Ground Search
The breakthrough came when CCTV footage showed the missing girl playing with other children and heading towards the Hardashi Kheda and Kanchanpur Matiyari area. Acting swiftly on this lead, the police located the child and ensured her safe recovery.
She was then handed over to her family, who were overwhelmed with emotion and expressed immense gratitude to the Lucknow Police for their prompt and effective response.
