Lucknow: State Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma inspected Kanha Upvan Gaushala situated in Nadarganj Amousi of Sarojininagar, operated by Municipal Corporation Lucknow.
During this, he gave necessary instructions to the officials for better management of the Gaushala. Also, on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, he worshipped the cows in the Gaushala, went to the enclosures and fed jaggery to the cows.
Apart from this, with the aim of promoting environmental protection, he planted a vine plant in the garden of the Gaushala. He observed the entire premises sitting on a golf cart and after visiting, inspected the Gaushala, Nandishala, Gausevak Awas, Charghar, Darika Gau Awas, Vrishabh Kshetra, Pond, Kanha Store, Siddharth Animal-Bird Treatment Center, Operation Room, Emergency Room.
On this occasion, he said that in our Sanatan culture, the cow family is very revered, Lord Shri Krishna himself was a cow devotee, Mother Cow was very dear to him. Here in Kanha Upvan, along with the conservation and promotion of cows, efforts are also being made to protect the environment. Here, along with more than 9800 cows, the work of conservation of other helpless animals is also being done.
He said that the service of cow is very pleasant and fruitful for the life of every human being. He has appealed to all the cowherds to take care of the cows themselves and not leave them helpless. Common citizens should also inform their nearest urban body if any cow is injured, this is also a kind of cow service. Farmer brothers can also donate fodder and straw for the service of cows.
The Urban Development Minister inspected all the enclosures, where straw, bran and green fodder were found available in all the troughs as per the standard. Clean cold water was available in all the enclosures and the cleanliness system of the entire premises was found to be of high quality.
He praised the work of the Municipal Corporation as coolers were arranged for the helpless cows in some enclosures. The health of all the cows was found to be good and it was seen that salt is also being used by mixing it in the fodder to protect them from heat.
To ensure that there is sufficient shed for the cows in the cowshed, he gave instructions to expand the shed at some places and also stressed on making the cowshed self-reliant. He inquired about the sale of milk and cow dung from the cowshed. He also inquired about the construction work of Kanha and Radha Sarovar being developed under the Amrit Yojana.
He also inquired about the state-of-the-art surgery i.e. rheunotomy to remove polythene stuck in the stomach of cows and praised the doctor team of Kanha Upvan for the efforts being made to save the lives of cows. He said that here about 9800 cows are being served and their food is being arranged every day, its smooth operation is the result of the dedication and hard work of all the officers and employees here.
During the inspection, Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh, Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Arvind Rao, Animal Welfare Officer Dr. Abhinav Verma etc. were present.
