Mellifluous songs usher in the warmth of Sawan

Lucknow: Women gathered at Lok Chaupal welcoming Sawan with a series of songs. On Sunday, a gathering of Sawan songs and music was held along with Guru Naman in the Chaupal organized by Lok Sanskriti Shodh Sansthan in the Irrigation Department’s Officers Club. Chaupal Chaudhary Padma Gidwani, Vimla Pant, Indra Shrivastava, Awadhi scholar Dr. Ram Bahadur Mishra etc. discussed the folk tradition, fasts and festivals, food etc. of the month of Sawan.

The program was inaugurated by Archana Gupta with Guru Vandana and Sawan song Sakhi Ri Dekho Chaaye Kare Kare Badra. Padma Gidwani sang Sawan has come, very pleasant clouds are gathering, Vimal Pant sang friend Shyam did not come, the clouds have gathered, Indra Srivastava sang Sawan season has come, Indu Saraswat sang my love, bring mehndi from the lake, Shakuntala Srivastava sang Hindola Kunj forest, Seema Agrawal sang Hare Rama, Kanhaiya swings with Radhika Rani, Suman Panda sang Kachori Gali, Kumkum Mishra sang the colors of mehndi are very red, friend, the Sawan is rising, Chitra Srivastava sang Ghanshyam stopped my boat, Alpana Srivastava sang Clouds have gathered, Priyanka Dixit sang Hey Rama, Krishna became a jeweler, Aruna Upadhyay sang thick clouds, Deepika Mishra sang Hey Rama, the night of Bhado is dark, Shakti Srivastava sang Sister-in-law, come swell, Aparna Singh sang Bhola Nath Gahmari’s song, Jhimir Jhimir, the clouds have rained, my lover is yearning for it Presented the viewpoint. Apart from this, Prof. Usha Bajpai, Prof. Vinita Singh, Devashree Pawar, Abha Shukla, Dr. Karuna Pandey, Rakhi Agarwal, Anjali Singh, Shakti Srivastava, Aparna Singh, Shikha Srivastava, Ratna Shukla, Nidhi Nigam, Renu Pandey, Vineet Sinha, Anshuman Maurya, S.P. Sahu etc. gave presentation. Swara Tripathi performed a charming dance on Aaya Sawan Bada Manbhavan. Dancers Jyoti Kiran Ratan, Saurabh Kamal, Shikha Srivastava etc. also spread the colors of dance.

On this occasion,  Suresh Kumar, Prof. Seema Sarkar, Rekha Agarwal, Kavita Singh, Avnish Shukla, Dr. S.K. Gopal and others were present. Sudha Dwivedi, Secretary of Lok Sanskriti Shodh Sansthan expressed her gratitude to everyone.
