Bareilly: A meeting of bank officials was held in Bareilly to ensure the smooth and effective conduct of the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for March 14. The meeting was organised under the guidance of District Judge Pradeep Kumar Singh II, who also serves as the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority Bareilly.
The meeting took place at the ADR Centre auditorium and was chaired by Additional District Judge and Nodal Officer for the National Lok Adalat, Uma Shankar Kahar. During the session, bank officials were instructed to make all necessary preparations to ensure the successful disposal of maximum cases through the Lok Adalat mechanism.
Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Additional Civil Judge (CD), Jaya Priyadarshini, informed that details of cases proposed for settlement were collected from bank representatives. She also directed officials to ensure that notices are issued in the identified cases so that they can be taken up for settlement during the Lok Adalat.
The meeting was attended by several bank representatives including Lead Bank Manager Krishna Kumar and officials from major banks such as Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of India, Axis Bank, Indian Bank and HDB Financial Services.

Officials also informed that a three-day special Lok Adalat is being organised in Bareilly from March 11 to March 13 prior to the National Lok Adalat. The special session will focus on the disposal of minor criminal cases, for which courts have already identified suitable matters.
To spread awareness about the Lok Adalat, the District Legal Services Authority has deployed para-legal volunteers across the city to inform citizens about the benefits of the initiative and encourage them to participate in the proceedings to resolve their disputes amicably.
