Mayor Chairs Property Department Meeting; Key Directives Issued

Lucknow: A meeting of the Property Department was convened today under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Mayor. The session was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner  Pankaj Srivastava, Chief Engineer (Civil), Officer-in-charge (Property), Tehsildar, and all officers and clerks of the Property Department.

Key Highlights of the Meeting

  1. Action Against Illegal Occupations:
    The Property Department has taken significant action against illegal encroachments. Over 20 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against unauthorized occupants to curb illegal land usage.
  2. Removal of Encroachments from Government Land:
    In a sustained effort to remove encroachments, the Municipal Corporation has conducted 160 operations across the city, successfully clearing 86.432 hectares of government land from illegal occupation.
  3. Action Against Encroachments on Pond Lands:
    The Mayor has issued instructions for action to be taken against illegal encroachments on pond lands. Immediate steps will be taken to reclaim these public properties.
  4. Swift Action on Encroachments on Other Government Lands:
    The meeting emphasized the importance of immediate action against any illegal occupation of other government lands, with officials directed to take swift measures.
  5. Protection of Reclaimed Land:
    To protect land that has been freed from encroachments, it was decided that the reclaimed properties will be fenced with wire or walls. The officers were instructed to ensure that boundary walls or wire fencing are installed to secure the land.
  6. Survey of Public Properties:
    The Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with the Tehsil Office, is conducting a joint survey of public properties. As of now, 22 villages have been surveyed, and the process is ongoing.
  7. Resolution of Public Grievances:
    A clear directive was issued to resolve public complaints in a timely manner, ensuring that citizens’ issues are addressed swiftly and effectively.
  8. Commercial Use of Vacant Land:
    Regarding vacant lands, the engineering department has been instructed to explore options for their commercial utilization to maximize their potential.

In conclusion, the Mayor emphasized the need for efficient and transparent action in safeguarding public properties and resolving encroachments. The meeting ended with a call for continued efforts to streamline the process and maintain the sanctity of government land for public welfare.
