Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party’s national president and former chief minister Mayawati slammed the opposition over the politics happening after heinous crimes against women. BSP supremo posted on social media platform X said that the incidents of rape, murder and suicide of innocent girls, minors and women in Bengal, Badalpur in Maharashtra, Bihar, Kannauj, Agra, Farrukhabad etc. in UP are worrying.
Central and state governments should take strict action
BSP chief Mayawati said that the central and all state governments should rise above party politics and take strict action in this matter, so that such incidents stop happening soon, and politics should not be done in its guise, this is the need of the hour and it is also in the interest of women.
Mayawati has also raised the issue of crime against women in the national executive meeting two days ago. He had said that the safety of women is emerging as a big national problem in the entire country including UP. Now mere rhetoric and rhetoric will not suffice in this matter, rather the central and state governments need to work with the right intention and policy.
