Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has said that why not the centralized medical NEET UG-PG exam be abolished and the old system be restored in its place, as demanded by many state governments.

Former CM Mayawati posted on her X account, “Naturally, the matter remained a metter of discussion from the road to Parliament and the Supreme Court regarding the irregularities in the All-India NEET-UG medical examination. Now whatever be the result, but the pain and mental agony caused to lakhs of candidates and their families will always haunt them.”

She further wrote, “The Center has so far failed to assure the country about conducting such an important medical examination properly, which is making the problem more serious. Therefore, why not the centralized medical NEET UG-PG examination be abolished and the old system be restored in its place, as demanded by many state governments.”

The petitions filed regarding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG 2024 exam were heard in the Supreme Court. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra heard it. The bench heard more than 40 petitions filed in the Supreme Court and discussed various points. Finally, the bench gave its verdict and refused to conduct the examination again.
