A joyful celebration kicks off ‘Spirit of Pink,’ a new initiative to support Breast Cancer Survivors
Lucknow, October 27th 2024: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow, hosted a heartfelt event to honor the courageous survivors who have won the battle against breast cancer and to launch the support group ‘Spirit of Pink.’ Held at the prestigious Centrum Hotel.
The event brought together a group of around 30-40 resilient survivors, their supporting families and former cancer patients of the renowned oncologists from Max Hospital Lucknow, Dr. Alok Gupta and Dr. Farah Arshad. The atmosphere was filled with hope, positivity and a sense of togetherness as everyone gathered to celebrate life and strength.
One of the most exciting highlights of the event was the launch of – ‘Spirit of Pink’ Cancer Survivors Group. This wonderful initiative aims to create a caring network of patients who have survived breast cancer and those currently fighting the disease. By connecting with fellow survivors, patients can share their experiences, offer encouragement and find strength in unity.
Dr. Alok Gupta, Senior Director & Head – Medical Oncology, Max Hospital, Lucknow, shared his excitement about the event, stating, “As India continues to grapple with one of the highest rates of breast cancer deaths globally, the launch of ‘Spirit of Pink’ group marks a significant step forward in creating a supportive community for survivors and those affected by this disease. By fostering hope, connection and empowerment, this initiative aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of countless cancer patients.”
Dr. Farah Arshad, Associate Director – Breast and Endocrine Surgery, Max Hospital, Lucknow, stressed the importance of early detection and education. She stated, “Breast cancer remains a significant health concern for women and it is important to understand the risk factors associated with it. Our group will provide vital support and information, helping patients navigate their journey together.”
The event also showcased the incredible talents of the survivors themselves. A vibrant talent show filled the room with joy as survivors took to the stage to share their unique talents. A well known RJ hosted the evening, adding to the festive mood and keeping the audience engaged throughout the evening.
