Lucknow : A large-scale anti-encroachment operation was conducted on Tuesday in Lucknow’s busy Kaiserbagh and Aminabad areas under the effective leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kaiserbagh, Ratnesh Singh. The operation was a joint initiative involving Kaiserbagh Station House Officer (SHO) Anjani Mishra, Aminabad SHO Sunil Kumar Azad, and their respective police forces, in coordination with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC).
The objective of the drive was to clear illegal encroachments that had been disrupting traffic flow and causing inconvenience to pedestrians and local residents. The areas targeted in the drive are some of the busiest commercial hubs of the city and had witnessed widespread encroachments by unauthorized vendors, roadside stalls, and illegally parked vehicles.
Early in the day, police forces from both Kaiserbagh and Aminabad were deployed in full strength, accompanied by municipal workers, bulldozers, and enforcement teams. Under the supervision of ACP Ratnesh Singh, the drive was carried out in a systematic and peaceful manner, ensuring minimal disruption to regular commuters.

During the operation, temporary stalls erected on public land, illegal signboards, and unauthorized shop extensions were removed. Traffic personnel were also present to manage vehicle movement and maintain law and order during the proceedings. The teams ensured that no untoward incidents took place during the process.
ACP Ratnesh Singh stated, “This joint operation is part of an ongoing effort to restore public spaces to citizens and ensure smoother vehicular and pedestrian movement. Such encroachments pose a serious challenge to urban planning and daily life, especially in dense markets like Kaiserbagh and Aminabad.”

He further warned that regular inspections and follow-up actions will be carried out to ensure that the cleared spaces are not reoccupied. SHO Anjani Mishra and SHO Sunil Kumar Azad also stressed the importance of maintaining civic discipline and urged local vendors to operate within legal boundaries.
Residents and daily commuters largely welcomed the initiative, expressing relief that the choked lanes and overcrowded footpaths had finally been cleared.
This anti-encroachment drive is part of a broader campaign initiated by Lucknow Police and the Municipal Corporation to beautify the city, ensure better traffic management, and uphold the rule of law in public spaces. Similar operations are expected to be conducted in other congested areas of the city in the coming weeks.
