Lucknow: The annual celebration of ‘Jagriti’, an educational initiative working towards the holistic development of underprivileged children, was grandly organized today at Smriti Bhavan, Kabir Peace Mission, Gomti Nagar by ‘Rejuvenation – A Spiritual Foundation’.
Since 2012, Rejuvenation, through its ‘after school’ program ‘Jagriti’, has been striving to enrich the lives of underprivileged children. Under the guidance of Sameer Nevatia and Aparna Nevatia, the institution not only focuses on education but also emphasizes spiritual, moral, health, and personality development. Family counseling and regular health check-ups by Dr. Sandeep Kapoor (Director, Health City) and his team further strengthen the program.
The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Guru Vandana (prayer to teachers). The program was hosted by Mona Tiwari and Monica Chaddha, who kept the audience engaged with their lively and heartfelt anchoring. Mr. Sameer Nevatia, President of the organization, welcomed all guests and wished for the bright future of the children. Together with Aparna Nevatia, he honored distinguished guests from the education sector.
In her keynote address, Chairperson Aparna Nevatia stated that Jagriti is not merely an educational institution but a modern ‘Gurukul’ where special attention is given to the physical, mental, spiritual, and social development of children. The goal of Jagriti is to provide vocational training that enables children to become self-reliant and not only support their families but also create employment for others. She shared that many students of Jagriti are pursuing higher education and some are contributing back by working with the institution.
With a 1:5 teacher-student ratio, each child receives individual care and attention, ensuring a personalized and effective learning journey. Jagriti also nurtures values such as honesty, dedication, and truthfulness in every child.
Several dignitaries from Lucknow’s education fraternity were honored, including Mrs. Shifalika Monisha Mishra, Mrs. Mitushi Negi, Mrs. Deeksha Singh, Mrs. Ujjwala Shankar, Mrs. Piyusha Sharma, and Mrs. Simi Chaddha.

Subsequently, students were presented with their annual report cards, and awards were given to the best performers. The awards were distributed by Namita Kakkar, Kumkum Khosla, and other distinguished guests. The report cards are thoughtfully divided into three categories for a comprehensive evaluation:
1. Academic Achievements
2. Social Behavior and Community Participation
3. Moral and Spiritual Development
Students performed the song ‘Jagriti Ke Sajag Sipahi’ composed by Aparna Nevatia, symbolizing the spirit of action and alertness. This was followed by the chanting of Vedic mantras, which were taught to the children by Preeti Mehra, and a short motivational play by Jagriti graduates, which was highly appreciated.
Chahak Nevatia presented a digital report outlining Jagriti’s progress and future plans, which include the establishment of a full-time Jagriti school, provision of better educational resources, expansion of vocational training, and special emphasis on children’s health and nutrition.
The event concluded with coffee and refreshments. Volunteers like Kumkum Khosla, Namita Kakkar, Mona Tripathi, Preeti Mehra, Monika Chaddha, Geetika Mehrotra, Rajesh Jain, Savita Jain, Soham Nevatia, Chahak Nevatia, Shalini Malhotra, Chandana Mohan, Ritu Singhal, Sushma Agrawal, Shweta Kuril, Roli Goel, and Anil Jain actively participated and contributed to the event’s success.
